What is the best brand of MP3 player to purchase?

We are planning to buy an MP3 player for our daughter for Christmas and Nano were at the top of our list until we found the batteries for replacement are expensive as the Nano itself. True? What brand would be a better buy and has a cheaper battery for replacement?

  1. microsoft zune. 30GB storage and only about 250. get it while you can. nano’s are about 5 gb of storage for 200 bucks. screw that. apple sucks

  2. Apple iPod…they’re the best.

  3. Get the iPod, for $240 ($230 if you get it at costco) you get 30gb, a beautiful LCD screen to watch movies on, and the wonderful Apple designed interface.

Besides, it will be obvious to the rest of the world that you have enough money to live comfortably (because you didn’t have to buy one of the cheap “economy” MP3 players)

  4. get an ipod video.its a pretty good investment and it has a lot of storage 40-80 gb. nano breaks easily.

  5. There’s really no comparison. iPod is the way to go. I love the nano. I used to have a Samsung and that was good but the controls weren’t as nice. The Zune is a failed product. There’s so many limitations they won’t tell you about that will completely piss you off later (like music disappearing permenantly after 3 days because of copywrite laws).

Go with the iPod – batteries don’t die and the benefits are overwhelming.

  6. I have an apple nano, and I really enjoy it. I also heard that the Creative Zen are good mp3 players also.

  7. iPods are, in my opinion, overrated, i had one and it continually broke. I have since switched to a Creative player and i believe they are the way to go, they are more reliable, more compatible with online download stores (except, of course, the iTunes music store). I think they look just as good as ipods and include much more functionality, for example, my Zen Sleek Photo has an FM radio, a microphone, the ability to record from the radio, and a better battery life than an iPod. Overall, go for any one of Creatives players
